Frequently Asked Questions

What to wear?

Close-fitting clothes are best, leggings that go at least below your knee and a tank top, leotard, or shirt you can tuck in.  No shoes and socks are only required for Hammock/Sling, but we recommend having a spare for Lyra.  Legwarmers are great for winter to keep muscles warmed up and also to ease bruising on hoop and trapeze especially.

Absolutely NO ZIPPERS on clothing are permitted on studio silks, it rips aerial fabrics and can be dangerous! This also goes for any jewelry or watches on any studio apparatus.

Hair ties to tie back long hair! We do have extras.

Do I need experience

Nope! We host a lot of beginner level classes.

Do I have to be Strong or Flexible?

No, in fact circus is great for building those attributes.

Can I take photos?

We love having photos taken in our studio, however be sure it doesn’t interfere with the class.  Remember to tag us on Facebook and Instagram!  It helps us spread the word about our studio, and it makes you super official!

What determines the price of a class?

As a non-profit studio with 501c3 status, we have prices that are competitive with most circus studios in Boston, and we have financial aid for those who need it.  Giving clients financial aid is at the cost of our studio’s revenue, but we firmly believe circus shouldn’t just be for the privileged, it should be for everyone.

What is the earliest age a child can start?

The youngest a child can be to participate in classes is five years old.

COVID-19 Specific FAQ

DO I STILL NEED TO WEAR A MASK?

No, however we recommend anyone wear one who is more comfortable that way. We will have extra face masks in case you forget yours at home!

Myself or a family member is immunocompromised, should I consider their wellbeing when deciding to come to train?

YES. Even if everyone promotes the best practices for training indoors, we still can’t guarantee our space will be free of covid-19. Much like doing aerials, there is an assumption of risk, and we can provide the best safety practices to mitigate those risks, but they are still present no matter what.

I JUST TRAVELED/WAS AROUND A LOT OF PEOPLE/HAVE A SICK KID

Please follow the latest CDC guidelines for coming to the gym. We love to see people being extra cautious and wearing masks. If you need to miss your class because of covid infection/exposure, or any covid symptoms regardless of if you have tested positive, we are happy to give a refund or makeup if you let us know in advance.

Can I sit and watch a class while it’s going on?

Yes! We recommend distancing the chairs so you are away from other families, and feel free to wear a mask. The chairs can be moved anywhere on the edges of the room that doesn’t require walking across the purple floor mats, and when in doubt we are happy to recommend a good spot to watch from!
